Minsk Arena (Belarusian: Мінск-Арэна, Russian: Минск-Арена) is a multi-use indoor arena in Minsk, Belarus.

The Minsk-Arena Complex is unique in its complexity and functionality not only in Belarus but also in Europe. It includes a multi-sports and entertainment arena for 15,000 spectators (making it the largest full-time arena in use by a Kontinental Hockey League team), a stadium for speed skating as well as for bandy for up to 3,000 spectators and a velodrome at 2,000 spectators.

Entertainment

It was also the venue for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010, which took place on 20 November 2010.[1] Shakira performed to a sold out crowd during her The Sun Comes Out World Tour.

Jennifer Lopez performed to a sold out crowd during her Dance Again World Tour on 25 September 2012.

Armin Van Buuren performed in the facility on 7 March 2013 as part of a celebration to commemorate 600 episodes of A State of Trance.[2]

Depeche Mode performed at the stadium on 29 July 2013 and on 28 February 2014 during their Delta Machine Tour, in front of a total sold out crowd of 24,523 people. They will perform again for their Global Spirit Tour.

The French singer Mylène Farmer performed on 27 October 2013.

On 18 March 2018, it was confirmed as the host venue for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 which will be held on 25 November.[3] This will be the second time the venue hosts the contest.

Sports

One of the primary uses of the facility is ice hockey, as the building is the home rink of HC Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League. The arena's official opening was held on 30 January 2010 when the 2nd Kontinental Hockey League All-Star Game was held there. The first match in the facility, however, had already been played by Dinamo Minsk on 14 January 2010 against Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Two more KHL regular-season games were scheduled in January before the official opening: against Avtomobilist on 16 January and against Traktor on 18 January.[4]

It was one of two main venues for the 2014 IIHF World Championship.[5]

The Belarusian Bandy Federation is working towards creating a professional team that would play in the Russian Bandy Super League, with home matches in Minsk-Arena.[6] Minsk was a candidate for a while to host the 2015 Bandy World Championship. For a while there were also speculations about the 2018 Bandy World Championship.[7]

In January 2016, the 2016 European Speed Skating Championships will be held.[8] In January 2016, hosted the tournament eSports Starladder i-League Season 13, Discipline such as Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The prize fund of the season is $500,000 US Dollars.[9]
