The New South Wales Minister for the Environment is a minister in the Government of New South Wales with responsibilities which includes environmental regulation and policy, national parks, and the protection of built and environmental heritage in New South Wales, Australia.

The current Minister for the Environment is Gabrielle Upton who also holds responsibilities as the Minister for Heritage and as the Minister for Local Government, all with effect since 30 January 2017.[1] The minister assists the Minister for Planning and administers the portfolio through the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, an agency within the Department of Planning and Environment and includes various sub-agencies such as the Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales.

Heritage

The title of Minister for Heritage was abolished after the 1988 election and resurrected in 2011.
