Mikihito Yamagami (山上幹臣, Yamagami Mikihito, born June 22, 1987) is a Japanese mixed martial artist who competes in the Strawweight division. He is the current Shooto Flyweight (114 lb, 52 kg) Champion.[2]

Yamagami is fighting in kickboxing in addition to the MMA, and won the kickboxing tournament of 114 lb in the Japanese kickboxing promotion "RISE" in 2007.[3]

Mixed martial arts career

Yamakami was awarded the third place in the amateur Shooto tournament in 2007, and debuted as a professional mixed martial artist in Shooto in 2008. He won the Guillotine Choke in Junji Sarumaru at Shooto Flyweight (114 lb) rookie championship tournament, and won this rookie championship in December 13, 2008.

Yamakami won by unanimous decision in the revenge-match with "Atch Anarchy" Takeuchi at April 29, 2011.

Yamagami beat Junji Ikoma, the Shooto World Flyweight (114 lb) Champion, and became the new champion on November 5, 2011.[2]
