Miki Matsubara

Miki Matsubara (松原 みき, Matsubara Miki) (November 28, 1959 – October 7, 2004) was a Japanese singer, lyricist, and composer from Nishi-ku, Sakai, Osaka, Japan.

She is known mainly as a pop singer by some hit songs like "Mayonaka no door", "Neat na gogo san-ji", "The Winner", among others. During her career, she has released 16 singles, 9 original albums. Despite her work being mainly domestic, she is well known outside Japan as an anime singer and songwriter. She also had some international work with Motown musicians Dr.STRUT in Los Angeles (Album recordings for "Cupid"), Tokyo and Osaka (Hall concerts), later releasing a jazz cover album entitled "BLUE EYES".

In October 7, 2004, Matsubara died at the age of 44 due to complications from uterine cervix cancer.[1][2]
