Mike Sobel

Mike Sobel is a Canadian television personality and weather specialist. He works for Global Edmonton, presenting the weather on the morning news on weekdays. Sobel was raised in Toronto and attended York University and Vaughan Road Collegiate Institute.[1] He joined Global Edmonton in the 1980s hosting shows like High Q, Four O'clock Rock and Disney Afternoon. Up until 2010, Sobel also worked at radio stations including CFRN-AM, CISN-FM, CHQT, CHMC-FM, CJAX, and KING.[2] He is married with two sons. He gained recognition in a viral video in 2014 in which a dog repeatedly jumped on him during a morning weather reading. He had been trying to raise awareness for adopting from the Edmonton Humane Society in having the dog in studio.[3]
