Michael William Gesicki (born October 3, 1995) is an American football tight end for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. He played college football at Penn State. He is the record holder for most receptions by a tight end in Penn State history.[2] He was drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.

A resident of the Manahawkin section of Stafford Township, New Jersey, Gesicki was a 2014 graduate of Southern Regional High School, where he set school records in basketball scoring (1,866 points), football catches (103) and receiving yards (1,817) and volleyball blocks (519).[3]

Early years

Gesicki attended Southern Regional High School in Stafford Township, New Jersey where he played football, basketball, and volleyball.[4] He finished his career as the Rams' all-time leading receiver with 1,817 yards on 103 receptions, with 16 touchdown catches.

    College career

    Gesicki attended and played college football at Penn State from 2014–2017. Gesicki was named to the John Mackey Award watchlist in July 2017, which is awarded to College Football's most outstanding tight end.[5]

    Gesicki impressed in the combine, proving himself a 99th-percentile SPARQ athlete, achieving the highest athletic score among tight ends.

    Gesicki was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.[8] He was the second tight end to be selected that year.[9] In the Dolphins' season opener against the Tennessee Titans, Gesicki had a reception for 11 yards in his NFL debut.[10]
