Michael Xavier Charles Gidley (born 11 October 1976[1]) is an Australian politician, and has been the Liberal member for Mount Waverley in the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 2010.
Career
Gidley is an accountant and former Young Liberals president, he had prior for Mount Waverley at the 2006 election, he also ran at the 1999 election when he tried to win in Thomastown.[2]
Gidley is pro-life. Along with Bernie Finn and Geoff Shaw. In October 2014 he took part in the March for the Babies alongside Jan Kronberg.[3] in 2015 Gidley voted against banning anti abortion protesters from protesting outside abortion clinics.[4] Gidley supports the Monarchy.[5]
Prior to gaining his party's nomination for the seat of Mt Waverley Gidley had nominated to be pre selected for Liberal MP Kim Wells seat of Scoresby. [6]
Gidley voted against banning anti abortion protesters from protesting outside abortion clinics.[7] Gidley opposed legalizing euthanasia.[8] Gidley went to the wedding of alleged branch stacker Marcus Bastiaan and Stephanie Ross at Camberwell.[9]
Personal life
Gidley was educated at Xavier College and he is married and has two children.[10]
