1 Liberal MLC Colin Begg resigned in April 1964 before the beginning of this term. Labor candidate Herb McPherson was elected as his replacement on 19 May 1964.
2 Liberal MLC Henry Thompson had died on 21 March 1964, before the beginning of this term. Labor candidate Trevor Gordon was elected as his replacement on 21 May 1964.
3 Independent Labor MLC Michael Quinn died on 12 July 1965. Labor candidate Jim Cahill was elected as his replacement on 9 September 1965.
4 Country MLC Leon Snider died on 9 August 1965. Country candidate Geoffrey Keighley was elected as his replacement on 14 October 1965.
5 Labor MLC William Dickson died on 22 May 1966. Labor MLC George Ford died on 30 July 1966. Independent Labor candidate Norman Boland and Labor candidate Fred Bowen were elected as their replacements on 19 August 1966.
6 Independent Labor MLC Amelia Rygate was re-admitted to the Labor Party on 13 June 1966.
7 Liberal MLC Thomas Playfair died on 9 August 1966. Liberal candidate Thomas McKay was elected as his replacement on 1 September 1966.
