Mehrunisa V Lub U is a 2017 Pakistani romantic, socio-comedy film which is written and directed by Yasir Nawaz.[3][4] The film has been released on Eid-ul-Fitr 2017. It is produced by Nida Yasir and Hassan Zia under the YNH Films production company,[5] and is distributed by Eveready Pictures and Urdu 1 Pictures.[6][7] The film stars Danish Taimoor and Sana Javed in lead roles.[8]

Plot

Ali, a young Pakistani, has just returned from China to his hometown, Karachi, with gifts for his family and friends. His family includes his parents, an old grandfather and a brother. Ali's in love with his childhood crush and the daughter of his father's friend, Mehru. Mehru resides in a very tranquil and calm place of the country having beautiful snow-capped peaks. An alliance is set between Ali's and Mehru's families regarding their marriage for both of them have a mutual liking towards each other.

Meanwhile, a local transgender don, Marzi, wants Ali and his neighbours to vacate their premises on the behest of a politician who wants to usurp their homes for a very meagre price and expecting the Chinese development to come there so that the rates of the area will be 10 times in about 2–3 years.

After multiple attempts to conceive a child after marriage, Ali and Mehru decide to check themselves for fertility. When the reports come back normal, the doctor advises Ali to change his locality or let his wife Mehru stay at her father's home, where peace is prevalent. She has not been able to adjust to the dirty surroundings of the city and is in constant fear since the city is very unsafe, with multiple crimes happening everyday and people showing none of their concerns. For this reason she's not able to conceive a child.

Ali decides to let her stay at her father's home but an angry old man in his locality makes him realize that the people who reside need to change and not the surroundings because if that happens everything will change. Ali takes charge of the locality and along with his trusted friend Jani convinces everyone to change their surroundings so not only his child but every child in the area is being welcomed in a nice and clean surrounding rather than a city of crime, dirt etc.

Initially, Ali and Jani face resistance including Ali's family, however, after seeing a slight progress, everyone in the locality puts up a charade in front of Mehru with clean roads-clean buildings, etc, and that everyone is fine and the country is moving towards an economic and financial stability even going to the extent of reading and telecasting fake news which is full of positivity.

The local don Marzi wants the apartment for the politician at any cost so Marzi rents an apartment there and along with his goons tries to create trouble. The politician kidnaps Mehru and demands 3 Crore as ransom from Ali in order to come up with the amount. The people of the neighbourhood decide to sell their apartments to Marzi for a meagre 10 lac rs.

Understanding the plot and trick, Ali and his friends try to rescue Mehru from the politician's house where he is holding a press conference and exposes the deeds of the politician in front of the media. And then Ali and Mehru welcome their baby to a clean neighbourhood. The movie ends conveying the message that everyone should keep their surroundings clean which in turn, can improve everyone's standard of living.
