Maxim Leonidovich Perlin (Russian: Максим Леонидович Перлин, born 27 September 1988, Moscow, Soviet Union) is a Russian activist, journalist, producer, publisher and mass media expert. He is known as the co-founder (together with Artem Kukharenko) of the face recognizing service FindFace.

Biography

Early life and education

He was born on 27 September 1988 in Konkovo (Butlerov Street, Moscow). His father is Leonid Efimovich Perlin (born 15 June 1953), a photographer and the founder of Fodis Studio, first Russian model agency. His mother is Ella Igorevna Perlina, a former Russian literature teacher and a marriage agency owner[1]. His grandmother was editor of "Sovetskaya Zhenshchina" (Soviet Woman) magazine, and his sister graduated from MSU Faculty of Journalism. Maxim attended School No. 1311 and Literature lycee No. 1356 in Moscow. He graduated from MSU Faculty of Journalism, International Department in 2010[1].

Findface

Perlin is the co-founder and the producer of "Facultet" publishing house[2][3] and Russia.ru site and Internet channel[4]. Together with Artem Kukharenko and Alexander Kabakov from Ntech Lab Ltd. He created social networking service FindFace, which helps to recognize people's faces[5][6][7]. He is the current owner of BlackLight creative communications agency[1].

Perlin is also known as author of some projects with goal of political support of Vladimir Putin, including the calendar Happy Birthday, Mr. Putin![8], colouring book[9] and AutoParty rally in February 2012[10].
