Mau is a tehsil in Bhind district in Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The soil of Mau is very fertile and is drained by the Zilmil river. Formerly mau was part of Raun constituency but now mau is a part of Gohad constituency. Lal Singh Arya is an MLA and Minister of Madhya Pradesh Govt. The mau is part of the Chambal Division. Bhagirath Prasad Singh is an MP from Bhind.

Demographics

Population of the town is about 20,000. Mau has an average literacy rate of 65%, lower than the national average of 74.04%. Male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 39%. In Mau, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

zilmil is only river here, very small river in rainy season you can see plenty of water in this river.
