Mary Gilchrist

Mary Dinorah Gilchrist (4 June, 1882, Rutherglen[1] - January 14, 1947, Edinburgh)[2] was a Scottish female chess player.

She won twice British Chess Championship in 1929 and 1934.[3] She took third place at Folkestone 1933 (the 4th Women's World Chess Championship, and tied for 8-9th at Stockholm 1937 (the 6th WWCC), both won by Vera Menchik.[4]
