Jessel Mark Araula Magsayo (born May 25, 1995) is a Filipino professional boxer he has previously held the IBF Youth Featherweight title and the current WBO International Featherweight Champion. Magsayo is considered a future Filipino boxing superstar by ALA boxing promotions and some Filipino boxing analysts due to his speed and aggressive style of fighting.[1]
Professional career
Early years
Magsayo began boxing when he was just 8 years old and by the time he had turned professional he had fought in around 200 amateur contests and was 4-time amateur boxing champion at the annual Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) national tournaments. In those 4 tournaments he claimed the title of "Best Boxer" twice and impressed those in attendance with entertaining fights due to Magsayo's Aggressive style.[2] Being a Top Filipino boxing prospect coming from amateurs, Magsayo formally signed with ALA Promotions of Cebu in 2013.[3] In June 2018 Magsayo signed to Now Boxing Promotions.[4]
