Maqbool Hussain

Maqbool Hussain (died 28 August 2018)[1] was a Pakistani veteran who had spent four decades in Indian prisons.[1] He was wounded in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 and subsequently was taken prisoner by Indian troops. He was released in 2005 after spending 40 years[2] in Indian prisons during a prisoner exchange at the Wagha border.[3] Sepoy Maqbool Hussain of Azad Kashmir Regiment was awarded Sitara-i-Jurrat for his gallantry services.[4] The Pakistan Army’s media wing, the ISPR and Interflow Communications Limited[5] co-produced a drama named Sipahi Maqbool Hussain that aired during the month of April 2008. Hussain passed away on August 28, 2018 in Attock.[3] He was native of Tarar Khal, Sudhanoti District, Azad Kashmir.[6]
