Mane (clan)

The Manes are a 96 Kuli Maratha clan found largely in Maharashtra and Karnataka and neighboring states of India.

Notables

  • Nagojirao Mane, Maratha sardar and ally of King Rajaram who then betrayed maratha empire by killing "Sarsenapati Santaji Ghorpade" and later joined Aurangazeb.[1][2][3][4]
  • Krishnarao Mane, Maratha general who played a part in the Middle India Wars.
  • Vithojirao Mane, Maratha sardar under Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.[5]
  • Bhagwantrao Mane, Maratha general under the Peshwa.[6]
  • Fatehsing Mane, Peshwa sardar.[7][8]
