Malavika Mohanan is an Indian film actress, who predominantly appears in Malayalam films. She also appeared in a Bollywood and a Kannada film. Malavika made her debut with Malayalam film Pattam Pole in 2013.

Early life

Born in 1992, Malavika is the daughter of cinematographer K. U. Mohanan. She hails from Payyanur in Kannur, India, but was brought up in Mumbai.

Career

She made her film debut in 2013 with the Malayalam film Pattam Pole, portraying the leading role of Riya, a girl who grew up in a village in Alappuzha, but follows a bit modern lifestyle. The film was directed by cinematographer Alagappan N., which also happened to be his directorial debut.[1][2][3] In her next venture titled Nirnayakam,[4] a social-drama that narrates the issues of common-man and questions those in power neglecting their responsibilities. In the film, she played the girlfriend of the lead Asif Ali. For her performance, she won the Special Jury Award at the Jaycey Awards.[5][6][7] She has also acted in several advertisements, including Hero Honda in Hindi and Mathrubhumi Yathra.
