MS Nieuw Statendam is an upcoming cruise ship under construction for Holland America Line (HAL), a division of Carnival Corporation. The second of HAL's Pinnacle-class ships, she has been given a name that alludes to five previous HAL ships named Statendam.[5][6][7]

Nieuw Statendam is due to be delivered by her builder, Fincantieri, in December 2018.[5] She will feature several of the new venues introduced on the Pinnacle-class lead ship, MS Koningsdam, together with some new attractions of her own.[7]

After her inaugural season in the Caribbean, MS Nieuw Statendam will spend summer and autumn 2019 operating sailings in northern Europe and the Mediterranean.[8]

Oprah Winfrey will serve as the ship's "godmother." The cruise ship is scheduled to debut in December 2018. Winfrey will sail on a three-day cruise aboard Nieuw Statendam, departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on January 30, 2019.[9][10]

Nieuw Statendam will feature a three-deck-high central atrium with an airy stainless-steel sculpture.[11]
