The ship has 411 cabins and 68 suites, one à la carte restaurant, a self-service restaurant, a cafeteria, an ice-cream parlor, a swimming pool, a disco, a casino, a conference room, a boutique, a shopping center.[2]

Cruise Barcelona, together with sister Cruise Roma, is operated on the Civitavecchia-Porto Torres-Barcelona route, sailing twice a week in winter and five times per week in summer.[3]

On 13–14 January 2012 Cruise Barcelona was involved in the rescue operation following the Costa Concordia disaster.[4]
