M. Y. Ghorpade

M. Y. Ghorpade (Murarirao Yeshwantrao Ghorpade) (07 Dec 1931 - 29 Oct 2011) was an Indian Politician. He was the son of the last Maharajah of the Sandur Kingdom.[1] He was a seven-time MLA and one-time MP from Raichur.[2] He also served as Rural Development, Panchayat Raj and Finance minister of Karnataka state.[3] Ghorpade was the Chairman-emiratus of the Sandur Manganese and Iron ore (SMOIRE) operation. He was a Cambridge post-graduate in economics.[4]
