Lost Creek (Grindstone Creek)

Lost Creek is a stream in DeKalb and Gentry counties in the U.S. state of Missouri.It is a tributary of Grindstone Creek.[1]

The stream headwaters are at 40°06′10″N 94°28′51″W / 40.10278°N 94.48083°W / 40.10278; -94.48083 and the confluence with Grindstone Creek is at 39°53′10″N 94°14′26″W / 39.88611°N 94.24056°W / 39.88611; -94.24056Coordinates: 39°53′10″N 94°14′26″W / 39.88611°N 94.24056°W / 39.88611; -94.24056.[1]

According to tradition, the creek was named for an incident when a party of soldiers were lost during a blizzard near the creek.[2]
