The Lord & Taylor Building is located at 424-434 Fifth Avenue between West 38th and 39th Streets in Manhattan, New York City. The ten-story Italian Renaissance Revival building was built from 1913 to 1914 by Starrett and Van Vleck, Architects, and is home to Lord & Taylor's flagship department store in New York City. The building was designated a historic landmark on October 30, 2007.[1]
On October 24, 2017 The New York Times reported that the company plans to sell the Fifth Avenue store and headquarters building to WeWork[2] for a reported $850 million.[3] WeWork will occupy three quarters of the building leaving about two or three floors for Lord & Taylor's retail space.[4] As of late September, the transaction has yet to close (Real Deal).
