Lockwood, Nevada

Lockwood, Nevada is an unincorporated community in northern Storey County, Nevada, about 10 miles east of Reno, Nevada. Lockwood is part of the Reno-Sparks Metropolitan Area. The area of Lockwood is connected to Reno by a bridge that connects to Interstate 80, across the county line. Lockwood is home to two communities, LCC and the Rainbowbend subdivision in addition to outlying residences. The community also boasts its own parks, elementary school, community centers, and businesses including the Lockwood Market convenience store. Lockwood is inside Storey County lines and is served by the Storey County Sheriff's Office and Storey County Fire Department, each having a substation in the community. Lockwood's elementary school; Hillside Elementary, serves Storey County School District students residing in the Lockwood area and attending Kindergarten through 5th grade. Class sizes are on average about 1/3 those of the neighboring districts. Community resources include a clothing closet and food pantry.
