The following international trips were made by Chilean President Sebastián Piñera in 2018:

 Peru Lima 13–14 April Participated in the 8th Summit of the Americas. In a multilateral meeting, President Piñera criticized the Venezuelan government. He held bilateral meetings with President of Peru Martin Vizcarra, President of Brazil Michel Temer, President of Argentina Mauricio Macri, Vice President of the United States Mike Pence and the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, with whom he talked about the Pacific Alliance.[1][2]
 Argentina Buenos Aires 25–26 April Piñera was received by President Mauricio Macri, who spoke on the need to "strengthen efforts between Mercosur and the Pacific Alliance". President Piñera said that the agreements reached between the countries at this meeting are "a trade liberalization pact that will open the door more to increase the exchange of goods, services and people".

The presidents also discussed the issue of Venezuela, where Macri spoke of "ratifying our commitment to help democracy reign throughout the region", establishing in Venezuela "a democratic government with transparent elections". Piñera stressed that both countries share "values and visions", with emphasis on "democracy, freedom, respect for human rights and the rule of law".[3][4][5]

 Brazil Brasilia 27 April In a meeting with his counterpart, Michel Temer, he discussed trade and integration issues. According to Piñera, "Brazil is Chile's main trading partner in South America, and Chile is Brazil's second largest partner in a robust and growing trade." The presidents discussed an "ambitious free trade agreement" that will break the tariff and regulatory barriers between countries, the Bioceanic Corridor, and blanket security. Piñera even invited Temer to join a meeting between them and Mauricio Macri to "seal the friendship" between the three countries.

Piñera still met with the President of the Congress Rodrigo Maia and the President of the Supreme Federal Court Carmen Lúcia.[6] [7] [8]

 Jamaica Montego Bay 6–8 July Participated as guest of the 39th CARICOM Summit.[9][10]
 Costa Rica San José 8–9 July Piñera met with President Carlos Alvarado. The President of Costa Rica thanked Chile for its position in the OAS on the conflict in Nicaragua. Signed agreements between countries dealing with environmental issues, gender equality and social security.

The twenty years of the Chile-Central America Free Trade Agreement were celebrated.[11][12]

 Panama Panama City

Panama Canal

9–10 July Piñera and Juan Carlos Varela signed cooperation agreements in matters related to the humanitarian and economic environment. The leaders addressed the desire for advances in maritime tourism routes and in preparation for natural disasters.

Sebastián Piñera cited the positive developments in relations between the two countries after the ten years of the Free Trade Agreement of those countries and the desire to continue advancing, showing support for Panama to join the Pacific Alliance.

The two presidents slammed into the Chilean Navy's Esmeralda training ship, where they crossed a section of the Panama Canal. Chile is the third largest and the first Latin American country to use the Canal.[13][14][15]

 United States Idaho 10–11 July As an end to the third international tour, Piñera went to Sun Valley 2018 technology forum, where he met with leaders of major digital companies: Tim Cook (Apple), Sundar Pichai (Google), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Ana Botín (Santander Group), Marcos Galperín (MercadoLibre), Reed Hastings (Netflix) and Jeff Bezos (Amazon), the latter with talks about Amazon starting in Chile.

Sebastian Pinera stressed that these meetings analyzed strategic alliances with Chile in terms of education, state modernization and digital economy.[16][17][18]

 Mexico Puerto Vallarta 23–24 July At the XIII Pacific Alliance Summit, Piñera celebrated the "new phase" of the group, also commemorating the Mercosur approach and mentioned that it intends to strengthen ties with the 55 alliance observer countries. The countries of the Pacific Alliance and Mercusul envisage an agenda for 2030 with UN objectives.

Piñera held bilateral meetings with Michel Temer (Brazil), Enrique Peña Nieto (Mexico) and Tabaré Vásquez (Uruguay).[19][20]

25–28 September In his speech at the 73rd UN General Assembly, Piñera said that Chile "will help Venezuelans with all the instruments of international law to recover their liberties, democracy and respect for human rights."

On September 28, he met Donald Trump at the White House. The American President said that Venezuela is a "disaster" and needs to be "clean". Piñera agreed on the situation in Venezuela, but said he opposed a military intervention in the country. [22][23]
