This is a list of British royal family members who, either through lineage or marriage or by letters patent, acquired the status of British prince or British princess.

1 Although James and Louise both hold a princely status, their titles are styled as the children of an earl, rather than as princes or princesses, in order for them to avoid some of the burdens of royal titles.[1]
2 In 1917, George V declared only male-line grandchildren are entitled to a princely status. Princess Anne's children are female-line grandchildren, and therefore do not have a title.[2]
