List of international cricket centuries by David Warner
David Warner is an Australian international cricketer and former captain of the Australian national team in Limited overs cricket.[1] A left-handed opening batsman, Warner is well known for his "aggressive" batting style.[2] As of April 2018, he has scored 35 centuries for the national team.[lower-alpha 1][4]
Warner made his Test debut against New Zealand in December 2011, and scored his first century in the second match of the series when he made 123 not out. He carried the bat in the fourth innings of the match, which Australia lost by seven runs. He followed that with a 69-ball century in the third match of home series against India in January 2012. It was the joint-fourth fastest in terms of balls faced at the time,[lower-alpha 2] and remains the fastest century by an opener in Tests.[6] In November 2015, Warner made 163 and 116 in a match against New Zealand, and became the third batsmen in Test cricket to score centuries in both innings of a Test match on three occasions.[lower-alpha 3] In the next game at the WACA Ground in Perth, he scored 253, which remains his highest score in the format. In January 2017, while playing against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground, he became the fifth cricketer to score a century before lunch on the first day of the Test match and the first to do so in Australia.[lower-alpha 4] As of December 2017, he has 21 centuries in the format, with 4 centuries each against India, New Zealand and South Africa.
Warner made his One Day International (ODI) debut in January 2009, and scored his first century in the format when he made 163 against Sri Lanka in the first of the three finals of the 2011–12 Commonwealth Bank Series.[9] His 178 against Afghanistan in the 2015 World Cup is the highest score by an Australian in the tournament's history.[10] The following year, he became the third batsman to score at least seven centuries in a calendar year.[lower-alpha 5] As of December 2017, he has scored fourteen centuries in the format, including five scores of 150 or more.[lower-alpha 6] Warner scored a "Man-of-the-match" innings of 89 in his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against South Africa in January 2009.[13] As of December 2017, he has played 65 T20Is and is yet to score a century in the format; his highest score remains 90 not out.[4]
