Notes

  1. The school prefers the name UAB (as listed in the current AP source book), although the full University of Alabama at Birmingham is acceptable. Alabama-Birmingham, Ala-Birmingham and UA-Birmingham are all incorrect references and should never be used.
  2. UAH fields a Division I men's ice hockey team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association; it competes in Division II for all other sports.
  3. North Alabama will begin a transition to NCAA Division I at the start of the 2018–19 school year. Non-football sports will join the ASUN Conference; the football team will play the 2018 season as a Division I FCS independent before joining the Big South Conference in 2019.
