Winger Sergi Canós is the most recent Brentford player to reach 100 appearances.

Brentford Football Club is an English professional football club based in Brentford, Hounslow, London. Between 1897 and 1920, the first team competed in the London League, Southern League and Western League.[1] Since 1920, the first team has competed in the Football League and other nationally and internationally organised competitions.[1] All players who have played in 100 or more such matches are listed below.

Records and notable players

Ken Coote holds the record for the greatest number of appearances for Brentford, making 559 appearances between 1949 and 1964.[2] As of 2015, three other players have made more than 500 appearances for Brentford – Jamie Bates, Peter Gelson and Kevin O'Connor.[3] The club's goalscoring record is held by Jim Towers, who scored 163 goals in 282 appearances between 1954 and 1961.[4] Adam Forshaw, Denny Mundee, Sam Sodje and Billy Sperrin all finished their Brentford careers on 100 appearances.[5][6][7][8]

Current Brentford players who have made 100 or more appearances for the club are Daniel Bentley, Sergi Canós, Alan Judge, Romaine Sawyers, Ryan Woods and Nico Yennaris.

Players

Outside left Patsy Hendren made 308 appearances in two spells between 1907 and 1927.
While "not a great footballer",[9] Geordie Reid ended his time at Brentford as the club's record Southern League goalscorer.[10]
Full back Dusty Rhodes played for, captained and managed Brentford at varying times between 1908 and 1919.
Archie Ling was the first goalkeeper to make 100 league appearances for Brentford.
A local lad made good, full back Bertie Rosier made 127 appearances either side of the First World War.
Inside forward Jack Lane captained Brentford during many of his 234 appearances for Brentford between 1925 and 1931.
Forward Ernie Watkins was the first Brentford player to score 20 Football League goals in a season.
Captain during Brentford's 1935-1939 First Division heyday, centre half Joe James made 253 appearances.
Andrew McCulloch scored 22 goals in 45 games during the 1977–78 season to help the club to promotion from the Fourth Division.
Andy Sinton made 182 appearances between 1985 and 1989 and won 12 England caps in the early 1990s.
Dean Holdsworth scored 76 goals in 145 appearances between 1988 and 1992.
Marcus Gayle made 230 appearances across two spells with the club and represented Jamaica at the 1998 World Cup.
Ghanaian international Lloyd Owusu scored 87 goals in two spells between 1998 and 2007.
Michael Dobson made many of his 211 appearances as captain. His father George also played for the club.
Toumani Diagouraga's 246 appearances is the club record for a player born outside the British Isles.[11]
