Line S1 of Suzhou Rail Transit is a line under construction. Running west-east, it will mainly serve Kunshan, connecting the city to Suzhou Industrial Park and nearby city Shanghai by providing transfer to Line 11 of Shanghai Metro. The line will be the first metro line in downtown Kunshan, the cradle of Kunqu Opera and city of economic miracle. The terminus Huaqiao station will be an interchange metro station between Suzhou Rail Transit system and Shanghai metro system.
