Lincoln College of New England, known until early 2010 as Briarwood College, is a private college. A co-educational residential school with an enrollment of 800, Lincoln College is located in Southington, Connecticut. Lincoln's regional accreditor placed the college on probation in the summer of 2018 and the institution subsequently stopped admitting students and announced that it would close in December.[2]

Lincoln is known for its mortuary science, occupational therapy assistant, dental hygiene, Bachelor in Nursing and criminal justice programs.

As of the Spring Semester 2015, Lincoln is the only institution in Connecticut offering a mortuary program. Mortuary science has the highest number of students, followed by criminal justice studies. There is an average of three mortuary students for every criminal justice student per semester.

Lincoln College offers a total of 24 degree programs including legal assisting, medical assisting, and clinical assisting.[3] The tuition for Lincoln is, on average, approximately $16,400 per year with additional fees averaging $300. On-campus housing is available for up to 300 students, with average room prices around $3,600 per year per student.[4]

Athletics

Lincoln College of New England LCNE athletics teams compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). LCNE teams are members of Region XXI and District 8.

During the 2013-2014 Men's Basketball season LCNE won the Region XXI Regular Season Championship, Region XXI Tournament Championship and District 8 Championship. By winning their District LCNE was afforded the opportunity to play in the NJCAA National Championship.
