Liars, Leakers, and Liberals: The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy is a 2018 book authored by Jeanine Pirro, an American TV personality, former judge, prosecutor, district attorney and Republican politician in New York. Pirro is currently the host of Fox News Channel's Justice with Judge Jeanine. Liars, Leakers, and Liberals is Pirro's fifth book.[1]

Published by Center Street and released on July 17, 2018, the 288 page book is listed as non-fiction and is a look inside the Presidency of Donald Trump as well as the politics surrounding the anti-Trump movement. The book's content includes author-conducted interviews with high-ranking administration officials, Trump family members, and those considered White House "insiders".[2]

At the time of its release, the book was available in the Kindle format as well as hardcover and paperback.[2] Following the book's release, it was listed on the New York Times #1 best-seller list as well as the number one sales slot at Amazon.com.[3]

Aside from a look at the Trump White House from the perspective of Administration officials, the book delves into what Conservative commentators and politicians have referred to as "the deep state". In a July 2018 interview with The Washington Times prior to the book's release, Pirro commented, "There is a deep state in this country that is far deeper than anyone ever thought. It took Donald Trump to bring out the fact that some in the government are involved in creating their own rules and mechanisms to maintain power and control, and preserve an ideology that Americans may not be buy into. He instinctively knew a deep state was there".[4]

Promotion tour

Pirro embarked on a promotion tour for Liars, Leakers, and Liberals in July 2018. The tour comprised book signings[5] as well as interviews, including ABC's daytime talk show, The View.

During her appearance and interview on the July 20, 2018 broadcast of The View, Pirro and View host Whoopi Goldberg were involved in an on-air exchange characterized later by media as a "heated debate" as well as an "explosive fight".[6][7] After Pirro jokingly told show host Goldberg that she "suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome", Goldberg responded by shouting over Pirro and saying, "What's horrible is when the president of the United States whips up people to beat the hell out of people". Goldberg then, on camera, tore up cards containing her questions for Pirro and cut the interview short by shouting at the author, "Say goodbye! Bye! I'm done."[8] Following Pirro's departure from the interview, she and Goldberg encountered each other backstage as Pirro was leaving the studio. According to Pirro, she tried to respond to Goldberg's on-stage comments when the show's host "got in her face and said that they've known each other a long time". Also according to Pirro, Goldberg then said, "Fuck you, get the fuck out of this building." Appearing on Fox News's commentary show Hannity the following night, Pirro confirmed that she "got thrown off the set, thrown out of the building".[9] On her own Fox News show, Justice with Judge Jeanine, Pirro noted she was not angry at Goldberg, rather, that she was thankful for the result of the interview and confrontation with Goldberg. According to Pirro, the incidents helped sales of the book and putting it to the number one sales spot at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.[8][10]
