The Labour Party (Italian: Partito del Lavoro, PL) is a socialist political party in Italy.
The PL was formed in September 2012 by the merger of Socialism 2000 (leader: Cesare Salvi) and Labour–Solidarity (leader: Gian Paolo Patta), both constituent members of the Federation of the Left (FdS).[1] The party aims at forming a broad labour party including communists, socialists and trade unionists.[2]
In the 2014 European election the PL supported The Other Europe electoral alliance.
