Kate McIntyre Clere (born ---) is a Sydney based documentarian and writer. She has she has made notable works such as Yogawoman and Kangaroo: A Love-Hate Story.[1]

Education

Kate attended the University of Otago in New Zealand from 1981-1984, graduating with a double degree in physical education and outdoor education.[2]

Career & Personal Life

Kate began her career in acting and directing for theatre.[2] Her first foray into film was in 1997 when she directed A Year on the Wing, an international documentary that helped launch the online documentary genre. The film was made in partnership with the ABC in Australia and followed of wading birds as they participated in their annual migration.[3] The same year, Kate and her husband, Mick McIntyre, co-founded Second Nature Films. She is also the executive director of Indievillage, an offshoot company that was created after the success of her film, Yogawoman.[2] In addition to filmmaking, Kate also works as an advisor for other independent filmmakers who are trying to get their projects off the ground. Kate has also contributed several articles to the Huffington Post, including posts concerning parenting and the practice of yoga.[4]
