Kameshwar Brahma is an Indian writer and the president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha.[1] He is a former principal of Gossaigaon College, Assam.[2] Born on 1 September 1940 in Bhumka village in the Kokrajhar district of the northeast Indian state of Assam in a Bodo family, he is reported to have contributed to the development of Bodo language through his writings and activities.[3] He is also involved with Asam Sahitya Sabha[4] and the social activities of Bodoland Territorial Council.[5] The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2016, for his contributions to literature,[6] thus making him the second Bodo person to receive the honor.[3]
