Kailyn Rae Lowry (born August 10, 1991) is an American reality television personality, author, and public speaker. Born and raised in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, she received public attention after being cast in the second season of reality television series 16 and Pregnant in 2010, which documented the pregnancies and first months of motherhood for several young women. In late 2010 she was cast in the spin-off series Teen Mom 2, along with Jenelle Eason, Chelsea DeBoer and Leah Messer, and has appeared in each of its eight seasons. Briana DeJesus, who has also dated Lowry's ex-husband, Javi, later joined the cast.
Lowry released her first book, Pride Over Pity, in 2014.[1] Her second book, Hustle and Heart was released in 2016.[2] In 2018 announced her third book A Letter of Love. Prior to its release, Lowry revealed that the book was written as an apology to her children, especially youngest son Lux.[3] Kailyn has also ventured into children's books with her book Love is Bubblegum which she released in 2015.[4]
Personal life
Kailyn Rae Lowry was born in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania on March 14, 1992 to mother Suzi Irwin.
Lowry became pregnant with her first child with then-boyfriend Jo Rivera, and gave birth to their son, Isaac Elliot Rivera, on January 18, 2010. Their relationship crumbled under the stress of balancing their lives and raising their child, after Jo broke up with Lowry in 2010, she struck up a romance with coworker Jordan, leading to her having to move out of Rivera's family home.
In 2011, Lowry began a relationship with Javi Marroquin, the two got engaged after a few months of dating, and married on September 21, 2013. Kailyn gave birth to her second child, son Lincoln Marshall Marroquin, on November 16, 2013. In May 2016, Lowry filed for divorce after nearly three years of marriage. They were seen going through a rough patch during the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, which started after she endured a miscarriage that he blamed her for. On December 5, 2016, it was announced that the couple's divorce has been finalized, with Kailyn and Javi being granted 50/50 custody of Lincoln. It was announced that prior to their divorce, Kailyn and Javi had filmed for the series of Marriage Boot Camp. [6]
On August 5, 2017, Kailyn gave birth to her third son, Lux Russell Lowry, with her longtime friend Chris Lopez.
