Jovian Ceparius

Jovian, surnamed Hypatus or Ceparious (Italian: Gioviano Cepanico Ipato), was, according to later tradition, a Venetian general and statesman of Byzantine origin. He served as the magister militium of Venice in 741. During his reign he aided in the fight between Heraclia and Equilio.
