Authentic Brands Group LLC is a brand development, marketing and entertainment company [1]based out of New York, NY, which owns a global portfolio of entertainment and lifestyle brands. In conjunction with Leonard Green & Partners, Lion Capital, and General Atlantic[2], ABG manages more than 33 consumer brands[3], and partners with manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers. ABG’s brands have a retail footprint in more than 50,000 points of sale across the luxury, specialty, department stores, shop-in-shops, ecommerce, mid-tier, and mass channels[4] and more than 4,600 branded freestanding stores and shop-in-shops around the world[5].

History

Jamie Salter is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of ABG.[6] Prior to ABG, he was the CEO of Hilco Consumer Capital Corp. ("HCC") and previously served as president of GSI.[7] Other members of ABG’s executive team include President & CMO Nick Woodhouse, Executive Vice Chairman & CSO Daniel W. Dienst[8], CFO Kevin Clarke, and General Council Jay Dubiner.  

On October 7, 2013, Authentic Brands Group announced the purchase of Juicy Couture from Fifth & Pacific for $195 million, [9] and on November 14, 2013, announced plans to bring the brand to Kohl's stores and Kohls.com, beginning in fall 2014.

On November 19, 2013, the firm announced the purchase of the estate of Muhammad Ali that would include all of Ali's intellectual property, .[10]

In March 2018, the firm announced that they would acquire Nautica from VF Corporation.[11] The acquisition was completed on April 30, 2018.[12]

On June 10, 2018, the firm announced that it was the winning bidder for the intellectual property of Nine West Holdings.[13] The acquisition was completed on July 3, 2018.[14]

On August 31, 2018, the firm announced a bid for Thomasville & Co. and Broyhill Furniture from Heritage Home Group.[15]
