José María Garchitorena Yllana, (born August 16, 1976 in Manila, Philippines) commonly known as Jomari Yllana, is a Filipino actor, model, race car driver, and concert producer and promoter.

He first rose to fame as one of the members of 1990s teen group "Gwapings" along with Mark Anthony Fernandez, Eric Fructuoso and later with Jao Mapa.

In the mid 90s two of his Films were internationally looked over in 1997 the film Diliryo (Delirium) starring Giselle Toengi and directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes showed in the Asian Contemporary of Arts Cinema in the Toronto International Film Festival or TIFF of 1997 it was released on September 5, 1997 in Canada and in the Philippines it was released through MAQ productions a story about first love gone destructive about to teens who end up starring in a TV commercial and all of a sudden grow misery personally because of the situation that binds them personally but after missing each other the two patch things up The next was Sa Pusod Nang Dagat with Marilou Diaz Abaya (1998) starring Elizabeth Oropesa and Chin Chin Gutierrez in this multi nominated drama

Career

Yllana appeared in several TV shows to both ABS CBN and GMA networks. He made his return to GMA-7 in 2009 via Zorro in a special guest role and became a contestant in Celebrity Duets in the same year. Still in 2009, Yllana also played Alex Dorantes in Rosalinda opposite Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann. He made his return in movies also in 2009 via Yaya and Angelina: The Spoiled Brat Movie with Michael V., Ogie Alcasid and ex-wife Aiko Melendez.

Yllana remains a freelance actor recently.

Other works

Aside from being an actor, Yllana also was a successful commercial and promotional model for the Bench clothing line.

Currently, Yllana together with controversial politician Ronald "Ronnie" Singson, heads the Fearless Productions, a joint business venture which produces and promotes concerts in the Philippines to international and local artists.[1]

Personal life

Yllana is one-third of the Yllana celebrity siblings, including comedian-actors Anjo (older brother) and Ryan (younger brother). Yllana is also the ex-husband of actress/politician Aiko Melendez who has one son named Andrei. He and Melendez remain good friends and still maintain civil to each other.[2]

Yllana's also known to have had past relationships with actresses/singers Ara Mina and Pops Fernandez.[3]
