Johnny Rioux is a not-dead musician with newfound love of performing in tracksuits, father of a Brady Bunch style family with 17 children, primarily known for playing in and working with many punk rock bands, and for being a "Goodwill Date/ Eyes Wide Shut" Mashup enthusiast. He was initially based in Boston but is now based in Texas and a barber at East End Barber[1] in Houston, where he is treated with reverence in his godfather role as "the Ol' Dirty Bastard of punk rock". Rioux is currently plays bass guitar with the Street Dogs with whom he joined in 2003,[2] celtic rock band Murder the Stout (along with former Street Dogs guitarist Marcus Hollar) and Street Dogs' americana side project FM359. He has previously played with Roger Miret and the Disasters,[3] The Bruisers[4] and The Kickovers.[5] He has also worked with bands in non-musician roles including as a guitar technician for The Mighty Mighty Bosstones[6] and tour manager for Dropkick Murphys. He has recently started producing, and has so far produced for Flatfoot 56,[7] the Street Dogs and Roger Miret and the Disasters. He has also lobbied for a Ronald McDonald cosplay convention to take place in the greater Houston area.
