Jobert Revereza Austria, better known by his screen name Kuya Jobert is a Filipino actor and comedian. He is known for on-the-spot style of comedy in question and answer format where he answers tough questions in funny way.

Career

Before being a comedian, Austria held many jobs such as bar singer, restaurant waiter, and family driver. In his interview with Boy Abunda in June 2018, he revealed how he chose to live with his son in an abandoned jeepney after his parents died. He also revealed in the show Magandang Buhay that he is an adopted son.[1]

In 2008, Austria's friend Choi uploaded short comedy videos of Austria that went viral. When the videos became known to film director Patrick Alcantra, he included Austria in the film he was working. In January 2010, Austria got a radio show "Itanong Mo kay Kuya Jobert" on iFM 93.9 which he left on May 10, 2011 due to hectic schedule. His popularity grew more when in October 2010 he was included in the comedy TV Show "Usapang Lalake" on Studio 23. In 2011, he was included in Banana Split shows (Banana Sundae, Banana Nite) and also in sitcom Toda Max. In 2014, he was included in the cast of the sitcom Home Sweetie Home. In 2017, he was included in the cast of TV Series Ang Probinsyano where he played the character Wangbu.

2014 Suicide Attempt Incident

On August 16, 2014 at around 1 p.m., Austria attempted to jump off SOGO Hotel in an attempt to commit suicide. In his interview with Boy Abunda, he revealed that he was depressed at that time when his girlfriend moved to Canada. Austria also admitted at taking drugs.
