Jason Forde (born 22 December 1993 in Nenagh, County Tipperary) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a full-forward for the Tipperary senior team.[1][2]

Career

Forde first played competitive hurling with Nenagh CBS, with whom he won an All-Ireland medal in 2012. He first appeared for the Sivermines club at underage levels, before winning Tipperary and Munster intermediate medals in 2012.

Forde made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he was selected for the Tipperary minor team. He enjoyed two championship seasons with the minor team, however, he enjoyed little success in this grade. He subsequently joined the Tipperary under-21 team, however, success also eluded him in this grade.[3] By this stage Forde had also joined the Tipperary senior team, making his debut during the 2013 Waterford Crystal Cup. Since then he has become a regular member of the team and has enjoyed much success, culminating with the winning of an All-Ireland medal in 2016.[4] Forde has also won two Munster medals.

Forde finished as the top scorer in the 2018 National Hurling League with a total of 7-72 in seven matches as Tipperary finished as runners-up.[5][6] In September 2018, Forde was nominated for an All Star for his performances during 2018.[7]
