Jakob Danger Armstrong (born September 12, 1998) is a guitarist and singer/songwriter, currently for the band "Mt. Eddy" (formerly named "Danger!").[1] He released his first solo material online in 2015 under the name "Jakob Danger". He is also the youngest child of Billie Joe Armstrong and Adrienne Armstrong.

Early life/Career

Jakob Danger was born in Oakland, California, the youngest of two children of Billie Joe Armstrong and Adrienne Armstrong. His father is the frontman of the American punk rock band, Green Day. His older brother, Joey Armstrong, is the drummer of SWMRS.[2] He and Joey (along with SWMRS bassist Seb Mueller and Mt. Eddy guitarist Enzo Malaspina) are also part of the side project band, "Waterloo Teeth".[3]

In March 2015, Jakob briefly filled in as a touring member for SWMRS bassist Seb Mueller. Later on that year, he would go on to release his first solo EP, entitled Jakob Danger. These early endeavors would eventually push him to form the band "Danger!", alongside brothers Enzo and Chris Malaspina, and Kevin Judd. In February 2017, the band renamed themselves "Mt. Eddy" and released their first album Chroma on June 2, 2017.

On February 28, 2018, Mt. Eddy announced that there would be a consecutive release of their first two music videos, with an EP dropping on March 11.[4] As planned, their first music video for their single, "Zombie" was released on March 9 and their second music video, "I Luv Robert Smith," was released the following day. However, due to unforeseen platforming delays, it was announced that the EP would be postponed until March 13.[5] Upon further delays however, the EP was released for free on SoundCloud on March 13.[6] Finally, the EP was released on Spotify and iTunes on March 14 and March 15 respectively.[7][8]

Influences

Jakob has stated that his biggest influences are The Strokes, The Cure, and Beach Fossils. Along with that he has also mentioned that many of his songs have been "written about girls".[9]
