Jafrul Islam Chowdhury is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament from Chittagong-15.[1] He served as the State Minister for Forest and Environment Ministry in the Bangladesh Nationalist Party government.[2]

Early life

Chowdhury was born in 14 October 1950. He completed his undergraduate in Commerce.[3]

Career

Chowdhury served as a State Minister for Environment and Forest in the Second Khaleda Cabinet.[4] He was nominated from Bangladesh Nationalist Party in Chittagong-15 for the Bangladeshi general election, 2008.[5] On June 2009 he made the Joint Convenor of Bangladesh Nationalist Party unit of Chittagong South.[6] In 2010 he served as the Chittagong south district President of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.[7] He was the only Member of Parliament from Bangladesh Nationalist Party in the Bangladesh-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group.[8]
