Jon-Jon Trevor Smuts (born 21 September 1988) is a South African cricketer who plays for the Chevrolet Warriors in the South African domestic competitions.[1] He is a right-handed opening batsman and a slow left-arm bowler. He attended Graeme College in Grahamstown. In 2010 he was selected for the South African Emerging Players' squad to tour Australia. In the 2010/11 South African domestic season he was named the Chevrolet Warriors cricketer of the season. He was included in the Eastern Province cricket team squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup.[2]

International career

In January 2017 he was included in South Africa's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Sri Lanka.[3] He made his T20I debut for South Africa against Sri Lanka on 20 January 2017.[4] In August 2017, he was named in Nelson Mandela Bay Stars' squad for the first season of the T20 Global League.[5] However, in October 2017, Cricket South Africa postponed the tournament until November 2018.[6]

He is the brother of cricket player Kelly Smuts.
