Ioan Dumitrache (25 August 1889, Ciorăști near Râmnicu Sărat – 6 March 1977, Braşov) was a Romanian Major General during World War II. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross of Nazi Germany, awarded to him for capturing Nalchik on November 2, 1942. Nalchik was the farthest point of Axis advance in the Caucasus.[1]
