Inside Politics is a political talk show, broadcast on CNN and hosted by John King.

The show is broadcast weekdays noon to 1:00 pm Eastern Time on CNN/US, and Sundays 8:00 am to 9:00 am ET on CNN and CNN International from CNN's studios in Washington D.C.

Original series

The show was originally broadcast for more than 20 years. From 1993 to June 2005, Judy Woodruff was the host. She decided not to renew her contract with CNN, looking toward teaching, writing, and working on documentaries.[1]

The series was initially cancelled due to low ratings in June 2005, before being brought back in 2014.[2]

2014: return

In January 2014, the network announced that Inside Politics would return beginning Sunday, February 2, 2014, hosted by CNN’s chief national correspondent, John King. According to the network, the 30-minute program features a rotation of reporters discussing the week’s political news. "It's a fascinating time in American politics, in Washington and across the country, and we have a remarkable group of journalists committed to sharing their reporting and their insights each week,” King said in a statement.[3]
