In March 2016, she won the Best Lead Actress Award in the 10th Seiyu Awards for her leading roles as Jun Naruse in the box office hit The Anthem of the Heart and as Yuki Takeya in the anime television series School-Live!. Early life and education
Minase was born in Tokyo on December 2, 1995.[1] Her interest in anime began at a young age; she had begun watching it when she was in kindergarten. She first became aware of voice acting when, after watching a stage play adaptation of an anime, she read the stage pamphlet and asked her parents about the name of a person mentioned in it.[2] She began aspiring to become a voice actress at the age of six, and listed voiced acting as her desired career when she was asked in elementary story.[2]
While in middle school, Minase became part of her school's tennis and theater clubs. She decided to join the theater club as she felt it would help her develop her skills in acting, but she quit because she felt too embarrassed to appear on stage.[2] Around that time, she was considering enrolling in a voice acting training school, but then her mother found a magazine advertisement for an audition. At her mother's encouragement, she decided to participate in the audition, which she then passed.[2]
Acting career
Minase made her debut as a voice actress in 2010, voicing the character Akari Okamoto in the anime series Occult Academy.[3] She then voiced background or supporting roles in anime such as Suzune Tanahashi in the 2013 anime series Love Lab and Eddelrittuo in the 2014 anime series Aldnoah.Zero.[4][5] Later in 2014, she played her first main roles as Mirai Nazukari in the anime series Locodol and Chino Kafū in the anime series Is the Order a Rabbit?,[6][7] as well as the role of Jun Naruse in the animated film The Anthem of the Heart.[8] Minase, together with her Is the Order a Rabbit? co-stars, performed the songs "Daydream Café" and "Poppin Jump", which are used as the series' opening and closing themes respectively.[9]
In 2015, she voiced the role of Hestia in the anime series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?.[10] She also performed the roles of Yuki Takeya in School-Live!,[11] Carol Malus Dienheim in Symphogear GX,[3] and Nekone in Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen[12] Later that year, she won the Best Lead Actress Award at the 10th Seiyu Awards for her roles as Jun Naruse and Yuki Takeya.[13]
In 2016, she voiced Rem in the anime series Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, where she also performed the insert song "Wishing" which was used in the series' eighteenth episode.[14][15] She also performed the roles of Shamille Kitra Katvarnmaninik in Alderamin on the Sky, Fuuka Reventon in ViVid Strike!, Mana Asuha in Luck & Logic, and Akane Segawa in And you thought there is never a girl online?.[3][16] In 2017, she voiced the roles of Meteora Österreich in Re:Creators,[17] Tapris Sugarbell Chisaki in Gabriel DropOut,[3] Chizuru Takano in Tsuredure Children,[3] and Yoshino Koiwai in Masamune-kun's Revenge.[18] In 2018, she voiced the role of Mari Tamaki in A Place Further than the Universe,[19] where she and her co-stars performed the series' closing theme "Koko Kara, Koko Kara".[20]
