Iddaru Ammayilu (English: Two Girls; Telugu: ఇద్దరు అమ్మాయిలు) is a 1971 Telugu drama film, produced by G. S. Mani, S. S. Pallaniyappan, Nagasubramanyam, Dinagayallu and Allagappan under the Producers Combines banner and directed by S. R. Puttanna Kanagal. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Vanisree and Shobhan Babu in the lead roles, with music composed by K. V. Mahadevan. The film is a remake of the Kannada movie Kappu Bilupu (1969), and later was also remade in Tamil as Irulum Oliyum (1971).
Plot
Engineer Narayana Rao (SVR) has one daughter Bhanu (Vanisri). She is very modern thinking and arrogant. His co-brother (wife's sister's husband....called as todalludu or shaddakudu in Telugu) Ramanujam (Gummadi) has one daughter Chandra (Vanisri). Chandra is hard working, homely and faces lots of problems with her step mother Sundaramma (Suryakantham). Madhusudhana Rao (ANR) is a meritorious student and has taken up agriculture as a profession and is successful. His friend Sriram (Shobhan Babu) is doing a Ph.D. with his financial assistance. His father Laxman Rao (Nagaiah) wanted to marry him with Bhanu. Bhanu initially teases Sriram and finally falls in love with him. How this double love story goes on is to be seen.
