Currently, the second season's format is the commonly used single play format, but the oldest format one from the Korean version's premiere episode, and its objective is to find the guest artist(s) to choose their real singer(s), based on its various rounds and clues as follows:[8]
Visual Rounds
- Stop, Looks and Listen
The guest artist(s) must look at every contestant based on its appearance and singing visual. They will show a muted video of each contestant's singing that reveals only 0.3 seconds of their singing voice.[8]
Verbal Rounds
- Introduction Speech
The contestants will introduce themselves using their own voice, but it depends if the skilled vocalists tell the truth or the tone-deaf vocalists lies on everything.[8]
Lip-sync Rounds
- Solo Lip-sync
Identify the skilled vocalists who are lip-syncing to their own voice and the tone-deaf vocalists who are lip-syncing to someone else's voice that have their similar voice tone.[8]
Evidence Rounds
- Question and Answer (Eps. 80—98)
The guest artist(s) must have then 60 seconds to discuss three contestants before making the final decision. These answers depends on the contestant if they're told the truth or lied their stories.[8]
- Dancing Evidence (Eps. 80—)
The guest artist(s) must 'predict' the contestants based on their dancing performance. They are unrelated to the Stage of Truth performance, but it depends on the contestant's identity.[8]
