The Hymn: Sarah Brightman In Concert is the sixth worldwide concert tour by English soprano singer Sarah Brightman in support of her album Hymn (2018). The tour is scheduled to start on November 24, 2018, in São Paulo, Brazil, and conclude on 2019. The event is expected to include 125 shows in five different continents, thus becoming Brightman's largest tour of her career.[1]
Background and Development
On 6 August 2018, Brightman announced her return to the South American continent after five years, with her promotional tour Hymn: Sarah Brightman In Concert. The concert tour includes dates in Brazil[2], Chile[3] and Argentina[4] in the months of November and December. A second date had to be added in Buenos Aires due to overwhelming demand. On September 13, it was announced that Brightman's show in Santiago had to be cancelled due to programming and logistical issues.
On September 17, along with the official announcement of the album Hymn, the North American leg of the tour was announced as well, along with extra dates in Latin America.[5] It was revealed that the tour would consist of 125 shows across five continents, thus becoming the largest tour of Brightman's career.[6]
In promotion of her world tour, Brightman is partnering with Swarovski, which would be uncharged of elaborating costumes and tiaras for the show's wardrobe.[7]
Production
According to a Billboard interview, Brightman stated that the show was going to count with a bigger production than the Dreamchaser World Tour, including the presence of a choir and a big crew.[8]
TV & Cinema Event
On September 10, Brightman announced via Facebook that a special show would take place at Bavaria, Germany and be filmed as well.[9] The concert took place on 21 September at the Musiktheater Füssen and included special guests such as Mario Frangoulis, Vincent Niclo, Narcis and Yoshiki.[10] The filmed concert is expected to be released at cinemas on November 8th, a day before the album release.[11][12]
