Hudlice is a municipality and village in Beroun District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. The municipality consists of Hudlice village and hamlets of Lísek, Varta and Doužebnice. Popular tourist atracttions are Hudlická skála, Josef Jungman museum and abandoned iron ore mine Gabriela.
History
Very first note about Hudlice comes from 1341 and was founded during so-called "large colonization of Křivoklát manor." The village was known for iron ore mining and producing of charcoal. Iron ore mining was terminated in 1965.
Notable places
Kostel svatého Tomáše
A village center is dominated by neoromanian three-nave church built in 1875 replacing little mediaval church. The church is dedicated to Thomas the Apostle and its architecture was designed by Jiří Jirucsch.
Rodný domek Josefa Jungmana
Wooden house and birthplace of Josef Jungmann, example of 19th century countryside architecture and a museum of Josef Jungmann family.
Rozhledna Máminka
Lookout tower called Máminka, situated on Krušná hora hill.
Hudlická skála
A radiolarite rock, natural dominat of the area. Rock top is accessible via ladders and secured by handrails.
Stará ves
Abandoned mediaval village covered by meadow with rare flowers (Stipa pennata or Alyssum montanum and butterflies.
